Peer Pressure

There is a lot of people that go on the internet as it is around 1,219,872,109 and that is today and that number will keep on rising with third world countries starting to get some internet as well. 

But this has a massive effect on people as it can lead to people self harm or break things but there is only so much that a human can take and this will lead to them committing suicide which is not nice for anybody and considering that is somebody's son/ daughter.

But all of this starts over little things:

•  what phone you have
• what games you buy
• what console that you have
• How good you are at a game
• and so on...

All of these little things that people have that others don't can cause real issues and that is why people wonder why people do things like that to other people. They could say:

• 'You are rubbish at this game and you should just give up'
• ' I bet that you are as bad at this game as you are at life'
• 'You are not allowed online maybe that is because your parents don't love you enough'
• ' Even my little brother that is five plays that game and you are not allowed your life sucks

This is the most important post that i ha e done as this causes a big effect on people and it can easily be stopped if people just get on with there life and only care for them. In my opinion this is so wrong and it should never happen for anybody no matter what their age and that the victims should talk about it to their parents or somebody that they trust that is an adult so that they can put an end to it before you do in a way that you might regret later on in life.

Advertisment

Advertisement is everywhere you look on Googe, on the side of your screen on the internet,in the street and many other places.

Advertisement is what makes helps a company as if they are low on population they might put an ad on the radio or on the TV. This is what helped Mark Zukenburg to earn millions as it is because of the advertisements that you see on the side of facebook.

 They are always in public places as if they where in a place where nobody lives then you are not going to people coming in as no one will see it. That is why so many American companies have there advertisement on the big tv's on the side of buildings like in New York.

 

Positives

• Companies can get a lot of popularity
• easy to do
• gets a lot of people's attention

 

Negatives

 

• Costs a lot of money
• Can anoy quite a lot of people when they are watching there favirote tv show and then an advet break comes up and they have to wait four to five minites as it takes a long time for all of the adverts to finish.

In my opinion advertisement helps out the world of today. For example Facebook is free only because they can get the money from the advertisements that are on the side of the screen. But they should get rid of them on the television becuase they are really anoying and they take a long time. 

Google and Wikipedia

Google is one of the most used internet pages as the first thing that people do when they go is go on Google, which started in the 1997 which means it has been runing for 15 years which is a long time. There is also Wikipedia which started in 2001 and it tis the most known and used place for infomation. Wkipedia has 275 active languages and it has over 35 million pages of infomation. but the information on there is not always correct as it can be put on by anybody and there is a high chance that it might be wrong. This is a key fact ‘While it took the radio 38 years, the television 13 years it took the World Wide Web only 4 years to reach 50 million users.’

 

Posotives

 

• Easy to use
• They have a lot of detailed content

Negatives

• Made by people and can easily be changed by the public so wikipedia is not always reliable.
• Always has advertismentson the top of your research that do not help and will cost you if you go on the page.

In my opinion is that Google and Wikipedia are good and helpful as lots of people use them for help and infomation.

3D Cinema / Virtual reality

The world of today has changed a lot and now we are getting 3D films which makes the film come to life. This is only good with some things for example I went and watched 'How To Train Your Dragon'  which i enjoyed so i went onto the internet to see what other people thought about the worst 3D film ever and it came up with 'The Jonas Brothers 3D Concert' which people were saying was not a good one to watch in 3D as it still did not feel like you were at the concert as there was nothing that looked like there was going to be a lot of objects or anything that was going to fly towards you. But people where saying that the best film in 3D was 'pirana 3D' as it felt like the piranha was going to go after people in the cinema as they felt like they were at risk.
  Positives

• Makes unrealistic situations seem realistic as if you are in the place it was set.
• Easy for people to enjoy.
• Makes you feel like you are in the place that it set for example if you are watching a darts match in 3D it looks like the darts are coming at you.

Negatives

• They are trying to make it 3D without glasses which could cause a lot of people issues for example the Nintendo 3Ds is glasses free and people are finding it really hard to watch it and not get a headache from it.

In my opinion I think there is only one  main negative and for that i believe that 3D films should keep them as they are good. But they should be kept with the 3D glasses as I have been at a film where they had it with no glasses and I struggled that afternoon as I had a headache from the film that I had watched.

Cable TV, Plasma, Size, Cost

The Past
The TV has been the biggest change to the last century as it only started in 1950's and that was only in America and it came into the Uk in 1955 which is a long time and then there was only two main channals which where ITV and BBC and the only differance was that BBC never shown any adverts during a program as there was no ad breaks where ITV had adverts every fifteen minuites. Then there was the arival of BBC 2 then Channel 4 and then Channel 5. Then suddenly there was the arival of the sky package and there was loads of channels that suddenly arrived.

Black and White TV's 

The reason there was a lot of black and white Televisions was becuase coloured televisions were a lot more expensive, so people decided to have a black and white tv which started the tv licence that was a way of shows like BBC was getting there money from this was as if you had a black and white tv you tv licence would be £49 which was a lot cheaper then if you had a coloured tv which was £145.50 which is £100 differance which would mean that you could have three black and white televisions in your house instead of having one coloured tv.

The Present
 At the moment most people own a flat screen tv in there lonuge which has a HD package built in with it but unlike before in most houses there is at least 4 tv's in the house that are all coloured which is normal for a lot of people but you would have had to been really rich to get four coloured tv's in your house.

If I ask most of the people around me whether they have a big name broadband for example:

• Sky
• Virgin Media
• Talk Talk
• BT

all of these will try thierinternet and on the tv. 

The future 
the future is never easy what to expect but there are a ot of predictions that can happen as i believe that in the future the world is going to get a 3D televisions and they are going to be in most peoples home and there will be more chanels then one.

Nintendo, PlayStation, Sony Wii Fit, Online Gaming, Portable Devices

Games is really taken a lot of changes over the years for example Fifa 13 this is a really good example on how games are bieng more complex and improving all of the time.

If you have a look a picture on fifa 05 and then you have a look at fifa 13 then you can see the differance that has occured over the years, the graphics of the game has improved through the amount of pixles that the can put on the game this is to make people feel like they are in the stadium and they are in control of there favirote team.

Here is some positives of there bieng games that you could play :

·        It gives a lot of people a job for example people that work at EA.

·        the amount of money it brings in to companies like EA as they are releasing new games every year updating old games every year, for example: Fifa 11, Fifa 12, Fifa 13 and tiger woods 20 ,11, 12, 13 and so on...

Here is some negatives to people playing games:

·           they can be extremally addictive.

·        It can distract people from doing things like homework or revising for an Exam.

·        Poeple spend to much time on there video games and stop going to work, take a day off school or give up playing a sport that you like as you find your games really adictive and this can make them really unhealthty.

Online gaming

Online gaming has taken a new dimention to it's play as people are playing against people that could be halfway around the world from them. Playstation Network started in late 2006 and it already has 95 million users which is nearly as much as Facebook and that is the leading social networking site, which is really good as there is a lot of people with Playstations main rival the XBOX 360 which was launched in 2002 and they only have 40 million users. 

   

Overall I believe that Computer games can be a personal choice on what they do, as I spend a lot of time on my PS3 so I think that the world of gaming has come to a new meaning. But now they are thinking of ways how they can keep people active whilst playing are playing computer games like Wii fit, PlayStation eye and the Xbox Kinect.   

Impact of Facebook,Myspace,Twitter, Youtube and EBay

Facebook was made by a guy called Mark Zuckerberg who is the record holder for the youngest millionaire in the whole world.

He does not get the money from making people pay to go on Facebook he gets it through the advertisements on the side of the page. Mark is that keen to keep everything secure that it will pay out at least $500 which is about £300 if you can find a way to hack Facebook. As over 1billion people’s security is on the line if someone can find a way to get other people’s details.

Here is some positives:
·        It is an easier to talk to other people from around the world
·        A lot of people can use it
·        If you have been on holiday then you can talk to one of your friends at school you can find a way to see what you should have been doing in your lesson’s then you can be able to catch up

but here is a few negatives that Facebook have :

·        It can make a lot of people waste time as it is highly addictive if you are talking to friends on the Internet then you can start doing for a long time and forget what you had to do. 

·         It makes it a lot easier to start an argument with someone and people could say something about you and they think they are fine because they are not saying to their face.

Overall I believe that Facebook is bad as people get to addicted to it and they don't really have to care about otherpeople as you can't see how it makes them feel.
Today when people go on Facebook they stay on there for a long time which can take them away from a sporty lifestyle whether that can be going out for a run, playing football or go for a swim in your local leisure centre.

Myspace
My space is very similar to Facebook but it does not have anywhere near enough people in comparison. My space is a site that was started in August 2003 and is partly owned by the singer and actor Justin Tiberlake.It only has 25 million users which is not a lot and most of the people that have a profile on Myspace don't use it.

Twitter

• Twitter has 500 million users which is halve the amount that facebook has. 
• It was created in 2006.

Twitter is a website which allows you to follow you favourite footballers, celebrities or just some of the friends that you have in school. The good thing that Twitter has a 're-tweet' button on it and that makes all of the things really viral for example:
If you are starting up a band and you want people to attend your group and you have 100 followers if you send it to them with an attachment to your music and all of your followers resend it to there 100 followers then you could end up having 100,000 people turn up to your gig.
that is how fast you can spread things on twitter and that is one massive positive over Facebook.

YouTube
This is one of the most used websites on the web today as it is the easiest place to look at videos that other people update onto there profile. This is what quite a lot of teenagers are talking about people like:

• KSI
• Calfreezy
• machinima

All of these people create most of the a video per day which takes a lot of effort. Some of the people that work for a big company like 'machinima' can earn a lot of money.
EBay

EBay and other online shopping are quite popular on the Internet as it is really easy to do your shopping while you are sitting on your chair on the lounge. At the minute the shops on the high street are having issues with people not going in them becuase people are just doing it online for example there is someone that I know that goes into the shops and tries on the clothes and then go online and buys it online as they have more sales online then they do in the shops. EBay is like a massive second hand shop that you could find everything that you need or want for a cheap price there is issues with it though as you can buy games on there but they could be scratched or broken and you can't return them if they are broken. 

Apple products

In John Hanson community school in Andover we wanted to see how many people had a phone and at least 9 out of 10 people in our class had a mobile phone and 6 out of 10 had an Iphone. This is quite a big number as there is a lot of other companies out there.

Here is as few reasons why people might want an Iphone or any other phone:

• The apps that they have on them.
• The amount of memory that the iPhones can hold.
• It is an easier way to listen to music outside of your house.
• They have their own 3G which means that you can get Internet outside of a broadband hotspot.

But with all of these positives there is a quite a few negatives:

• The price of a lot of phones, the new Iphone is worth £529 which is a lot of money, also the new samsung note costs £380 which is also quite a lot. Which is over £100 pounds difference but you are basically paying for the brand new Iphone that is what makes it cost a lot because you can trust Iphone and you know the money is going towards upgrades for the phone, security and making the next Iphone better then thew old one.
• They have a fragile screen as if you drop it, it's most likely to smash. Sometimes if you smash your phone by accident it will still cost you £150 and that is for the Iphone 4S,  if you smash the new Iphone 5 it will cost you £200.

My opinion on these phones is that I would either get a new samsung or an old Iphone because they are really expensive I would still like to have a touch screen because I am careful with not dropping my phone as I know how much it is if you drop your phone.
